    Jessica Goring
Assistant Principal, A.P. History Instructor, Mock Trial and Moot Court Advisor

I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher, and when I entered Barnard College, Columbia University I applied for their education program, which would enable me to graduate with certification to teach. At Barnard I majored in history and minored in education, graduating cum laude (with honors). During my time in college I tutored for GED and the SAT, as well as for math students. I also student taught at John F. Kennedy high school, who offered me a job upon graduation. I taught social studies at Kennedy for six years, and also ran the Law program there. During my last few years at Kennedy, I worked with Mr. Evan Schwartz, a former Finance Coordinator, on creating a school that would focus on careers in Law and Finance. We opened in 2003 and I became the Assistant Principal in 2004. Other career highlights include my Masters, which I received from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2000 with a 4.0 GPA, and my Doctorate, also from Teachers College, which is expected for 2006.
