Lena Borst Coordinator and Instructor
Lena Borst is the coordinator of the Academy of Finance at the Bronx School of Law and Finance.
She also serves as a history and economics teacher. She began her education in Jefferson City, Missouri,
but moved to Connecticut for college where she attended Connecticut College. After completing her B.A.
in economics and working and studying in St. Petersburg, Russia, Lena took a job with Accenture, formerly
known as Andersen Consulting. She spent five years helping to redesign claims processing at health care
companies. She then returned to school at Teachers College, Columbia University to complete her M.A. in
Teaching Social Studies. She first worked as a teacher at John F. Kennedy High School then moved to the
Bronx School of Law and Finance. |

Mark Mannochio Instructor, Banking and Insurance
Mark Manocchio teaches the Banking and Insurance course at the Bronx School of Law and
Finance. After growing up in the NYC area, he moved to Philadelphia where he earned a degree in mathematics
at the University of Pennsylvania. After college, he worked as an actuary and then as a data analyst, and
spent over 3 years at Columbia House Co. analyzing one of the largest customer databases in the world. Mark
returned to school and earned his MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business, majoring in finance and
information technology. Following business school, he spent several years working in financial roles at
start-up firms focused on industries ranging from software development to mountain climbing. In 2004, he
joined the Bronx School of Law and Finance as a math teacher. |
